South Downs: A National Park at last!

The South Downs area has been given National Park status. Read more here. Also see this article in the Guardian.

I have put a quick poll on the right hand side to see what you think about this. A few questions to think about to inform your response/vote:
Does the South Downs have the right sort of landscape to be a National Park?
Does it need protecting?
How will local people (You!) be affected?
