You will soon be starting your Controlled Assessment. Look at the documents below. There is one for each topic of Tourism, Fashion and Sport. You must choose one question only to investigate and so look at the relevant document for the question you want to answer.
The aim of this lesson is to record some sources of information and websites that you come across to help you with your investigation. To help guide your research and for the sorts of things you need to find out, look at the table on the word document you have chosen.

Controlled Assessment Catch Up...
If you miss a session then you must attend the catch up sessions which are after school on Thursday- 3:30-4:30 every week.

Hello Year 10!!!
Funky Geog starter...
I was impressed with your questions and responses to the image of the baby girl this morning, e.g. Do they care? Is it an MEDC or LEDC? Are they promoting contraception? Does this represent fear of the government? Are women second class citizens? Does this happen alot? etc. Well done!
The One Child Policy in China can be used as a case study example for how a country has attempted to manage it's population growth, so hopefully you will remember the key points; Why did China need a strategy to manage population growth? What did the policy involve? What were the effects on China and its population? Was it a success?
If you were the Chinese government, how would you manage the population? What would be your rules that families must follow? One example is propaganda...click here to see those posters again.

Year 10 Mock Exam
I have just finished marking your mock exams. Some of them are very good and it is clear that you have revised! However, some are also disappointing. I have listed some general tips for improvement:
- You must read the question carefully. If it states 'With reference to specific place detail', then you must refer to specific places- case studies we have studied or you know of!
-When refering to a natural hazard such as an earthquake or tsunami, it is important that you explain the effects in as much detail as possible e.g. Approx how many people died? How many were made homeless?
-Some of you are not reading over or checking your answers. You must make sure you develop your answers and include reasons.

Year 10 Mock
You all worked very hard in your revision lesson. Ensure you prepare for the mock at home and you know the appropriate case studies. Also make use of the sites I have included on here. Hope you all have a great Spring holiday :)
